David G. Folks, MD

dgfolksDavid G. Folks, M.D., is Medical Director of Hospital Based Services for Pine Rest Christian Mental Health Services. Dr. Folks received his medical degree from University of Oklahoma Health Sciences Center where he trained in Internal Medicine. Dr. Folks completed his residency in psychiatry and fellowship training at Vanderbilt University Hospital in Nashville, Tennessee. He has Board Certifications in General Psychiatry, Addiction Psychiatry and Geriatric Psychiatry. He joined Pine Rest following 8 years as Chief Medical Officer of the New Hampshire Hospital while serving on the faculty at Dartmouth School. Dr. Folks has been involved in the areas of Psychopharmacology, Mood Disorders, Psychiatric Co-morbidity including Addiction Medicine, Geriatric Medicine, and Psychosomatic Medicine. He has been involved in multiple, pivotal studies of pharmacologic agents now on the market. He has published several articles and reviews, book chapters, and 2 books.
